It’s a great time for potential video game buyers this upcoming holiday season. For the first time in a few years, the current generation units from the three major companies will all be readily available and priced for the average American.
The chain of reactions started first with Xbox, who dropped their prices to offer a $199 Arcade version of the console. This summer, PlayStation decided to create a slimmer version, and slash the price of their PS3 to $299 dollars. Finally, Nintendo just recently made the Wii $199 dollars after the latest price slash.
Along with the prices dropping across the board, they all should be available without hassle during the holiday season. The Wii has had a lot of trouble staying in stock for a few years now, but as more people already have the products, it should now be available at retailers instead of people selling them for twice the amount online.
Out of the three, the PS3 is worth the most. However, I feel that the PS3 is the best deal because it includes a Blue-Ray disc player. The PS3 also has the best graphics and a large variety of games. Finally, the PS3 can link with the PlayStation Portable to give a gamer more options to get the most out of this small computer.
So if you are looking to buy this holiday season, all three consoles will cost much less than previous years. However, you might want to spend that extra $100 to get the best system.
