NEW Facial Training
Having already trained the brains of the Japanese and begun work on training their eyes, Nintendo now can train faces as well. And why not? If you can tone up a stomach you can also tone up the face. With this game you can lift those hanging jowls and double chins, get rid of crows’ feet and bags under the eyes. Wrinkles will soon diminish once the face gains muscle tone and improved complexion.
Motion Detecting Camera
Ever since the original DS was launched, there has been speculation that its GBA slot could be used to host a camera. Now, all that has come true in Face Training. Otona No DS Kao Natural Facelift Training is a collaboration between Intelligent Systems and beauty expert Fumiko Inudo. The motion-detecting video camera plugs into the Game Boy into your Nintendo DS Slot 2 and takes real time video images of your face to see if the you are doing the exercises correctly as shown on another screen next to the image of your face. For a simple camera its motion tracking is pretty impressive.
How does it Work?
To begin with, you place your face in a frame so that the camera knows where your eyes, nose and mouth are positioned for each of the exercises. You place your eyes in the right area on the screen and the programme can begin. With an animated model on the left screen and your face on the right, you follow the audio instructions on how to do the facial exercises. The exercises vary from opening your eyes wide to contracting your face to the left or right. The training program will tell you how to perform a move, hold it for a count of five, and slowly relax. The game keeps track of your mouth and eye positions to determine how well or poorly you are doing each exercise.
The Interface
The console is very similar to Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day. It has the same interface and the same structure. You can do daily training with specific facial movement tasks. At the end of the task, it will pull up snapshots it took during the session and rank your results according to its internal criteria. Arrows will be placed on your video image, showing you how well the program can track the subtle movements of your lips and eyes. After some exercises you get a bonus stamp on the calendar, a flower to tell you that you’ve done it right.
How l will it take?
The game connects to its own calendar so it does not take up a lot of time because once you have done a set of exercises, you are finished for that day.
